Child, Adolescent, and Family Track Clinical Intern, Supervised by Kate Robison, LCPC
Jordan Carmichael

Jordan Carmichael is a clinical intern pursuing her Master of Social Work (MSW) at the University of Chicago Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy, and Practice. She has over nine years of experience supporting children and adolescents across educational, behavioral, and therapeutic settings. Her background includes working as a preschool teacher, providing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, and completing a school therapist internship, where she provided individual and group therapy to elementary and middle school students. She has also completed intensive training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure Response Prevention, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). These experiences and trainings have deepened her understanding of the unique emotional, behavioral, and developmental needs of young people.
Jordan believes meaningful change begins with a strong therapeutic relationship and strives to create a space where clients feel safe, understood, and empowered to be themselves. She values building trusting relationships with children and their families, while meeting each child where they are developmentally. Jordan has worked clinically with children and adolescents ages 4 and older, in both individual and group settings. She has experience supporting youth with anxiety, depression, autism, and a range of emotional and behavioral regulation challenges. She is particularly passionate about working with children ages 4-12. Her professional interests include anxiety, mood disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), Autism Spectrum Disorder, and supporting the development of social/interpersonal skills. Jordan is available to support children, adolescents, and their families during her internship at Chicago Psychotherapy.
