Kennon Moon, LPC

Kennon Moon (she/her) is a second-year Clinical Fellow at Chicago Psychotherapy. She earned her Master of Arts in Counseling from Northwestern University’s Child and Adolescent Track and holds a BA in Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania. Kennon was also a Division I women’s lacrosse athlete and developed an interest in the psychology of performance and sports performance during her time at UPenn. Prior to joining Chicago Psychotherapy, Kennon worked as an assistant teacher in a therapeutic classroom setting at Tuesday’s Child, supporting healthy development, self-regulation, and social-emotional growth in children with behavioral and emotional challenges.
Kennon is passionate about helping clients across the lifespan navigate life’s challenges with greater confidence and resilience. While she has extensive experience working with children and families, Kennon also enjoys supporting teens, college students, and adults facing anxiety, ADHD, grief and loss, life transitions, adjustment difficulties, and relationship challenges. Her clinical interests include anxiety disorders, performance anxiety, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, OCD, childhood traumatic stress, grief, and adjustment-related concerns for clients age 4 through adulthood.
Kennon takes a collaborative, client-centered approach to therapy and believes that meaningful change begins with feeling understood. She works closely with each client to identify their strengths, understand their unique experiences, and develop personalized treatment goals that align with their values and needs. She strives to create a warm, authentic, and supportive space where clients can explore challenges, build new skills, and foster lasting growth. Drawing on creativity and a strengths-based perspective, Kennon helps clients build confidence, resilience, and meaningful change in their daily lives.
Kennon has received training in a variety of evidence-based treatments, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure-Based CBT, Trauma-Focused CBT, and Parent Management Training. She is also trained in supporting parents through behavior management and family-based interventions. Additionally, Kennon is currently completing advanced training in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for trauma and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I). She will be completing training in Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE) in July 2026. Kennon has experience conducting risk assessments and supporting individuals experiencing emotional and behavioral dysregulation, family conflict, self-injurious behaviors, and suicidal ideation.
In her role at Chicago Psychotherapy, Kennon works with clients of all ages (4+), offering individual therapy, parent support, and family-focused interventions. She is currently accepting new clients and has immediate after-school and evening availability.
