Maryam Zlitni, LPC

Maryam Zlitni, LPC, is a Staff Therapist at Chicago Psychotherapy, where she completed her clinical internship and two-year post-graduate fellowship. She earned her Master’s degree in Counseling from Northwestern University. Maryam brings a thoughtful, client-centered, and trauma-informed approach to her clinical work, rooted in individualized application of a range of evidence-based practices.

Maryam is dedicated to creating a collaborative and affirming therapeutic space where clients feel understood, supported, and empowered to grow. She values the unique identities, lived experiences, and cultural contexts each client brings to therapy, and works to ensure that every individual feels seen and respected throughout the therapeutic process.

Maryam works with clients across the lifespan, with a particular passion for supporting children, adolescents, and young adults. Maryam has experience working with twice-exceptional (2E) and academically gifted individuals, helping them strengthen emotional regulation, build effective problem-solving skills, and build confidence in their strengths.

Maryam has received advanced training in evidence-based treatments for anxiety, mood disorders, OCD, ADHD, and trauma. She has also completed specialized training in SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions) and PMT (Parent Management Training), and uses this expertise to provide gold-standard care for parents seeking support. Her therapeutic style is warm, curious, and collaborative, grounded in the belief that meaningful change happens within a trusting and compassionate relationship. Guided by a deep commitment to holistic care and health equity, Maryam helps clients build on their existing strengths while developing the insight and skills needed to navigate challenges and thrive in their daily lives.
