Marissa Post, LCSW

Marissa Post, LCSW, is a Licensed Certified Clinical Social Worker whose clinical work is rooted in a deep commitment to the well-being of children, adolescents, young adults, and families. She earned her Master of Social Work degree with a concentration in Clinical Social Work and Children & Families from the University of Maryland, Baltimore, and her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Family Science from the University of Maryland, College Park.
Marissa brings rich, hands-on clinical experience across a wide range of settings. She has served clients in both outpatient individual therapy and intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization programs. In addition, Marissa completed an inpatient clinical internship at Johns Hopkins Hospital Children’s Center, where she worked alongside multidisciplinary teams across general pediatric, adolescent psychiatry, burn, oncology, PICU, NICU, and Emergency Department units, providing crisis intervention, brief therapy, and family support in a high-acuity clinical setting.
Marissa’s clinical approach is integrative and evidence-based, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions, (SPACE), play therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and mindfulness-based interventions. She tailors her approach to the individual needs of each child and family, always keeping the therapeutic relationship at the center of the work.
Marissa has particular expertise in working with children and adolescents experiencing anxiety, phobias, OCD, trauma, depression, life transitions, and neurodivergence. She is certified in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) and holds a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification, having provided ABA therapy to young children with ASD. She has also served as a group therapist and social coach for the PEERS® social skills program and the Unstuck and On Target® executive functioning group, supporting neurodivergent youth in building the skills they need to thrive.
Marissa believes that the family is an essential part of every child’s healing. She is committed to working closely with parents throughout the therapeutic process, as true partners in their child’s growth. Her style is warm, collaborative, and grounded in genuine care for the individuals and families she serves.
